doUCwhatIC™ is an approach to teaching, learning, and therapy that incorporates the use of music and media as content and context for critical thinking about self and social awareness, and personal and social responsibility, specifically, as it pertains identity development at the individual and group levels. Additionally, as it pertains to forming and clarifying values, choosing the best coping strategies, and monitoring communication norms at the individual and group levels. Our approach emphasizes individual response-ability and provides prompts for critical thinking of our perceptions of what is “real”.
Self-reflection combined with self and social awareness are the keys to being able to extract essential lesson(s) learned from life experiences. These essential lessons must be internalized to optimize positive outcomes and minimize negative impact. doUCwhatIC™ works in tandem with Tag-n-Talk™. Together, this multi-generational approach to youth development and therapy require training that leads to certification and a licensing agreement for use.
